We're looking for a Senior Python Developer to lead the development of backend services, drive technical strategy, and mentor others in a high-impact role based in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area. Responsibilities: Architect and develop Python-based microservices (FastAPI, Flask, or custom).
Translate data formats (JSON, Parquet, Avro) and develop automation/scripting solutions.
Drive root cause analysis and troubleshooting across staging and production.
Lead integration efforts with DevOps, security, and cloud infrastructure teams.
Guide CI/CD improvements, observability tooling, and service reliability.
Design and maintain RESTful APIs and secure service integrations.
Collaborate across disciplines and contribute to documentation, test strategies, and team processes.
Work with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Neo4j).
Deploy and scale apps on AWS (S3, EC2, IAM, etc.). Required Skills/Experience: 8+ years of software development with strong expertise in Python.
Experience building and supporting scalable backend systems.
Deep knowledge of cloud platforms, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD.
Solid grasp of security best practices, Git workflows, and Agile delivery.
Ability to mentor engineers, lead code reviews, and communicate technical decisions clearly.
Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
U.S. Citizenship required for clearance eligibility. Preferred Skills/Experience: NiFi, Apache Airflow, or data pipeline tools.
Observability tools like Kibana; test frameworks like Selenium.
Experience in classified/cloud-isolated environments (C2S, AC2SP).
