The Food Service Worker, is responsible for helping to sustain the highest quality food service and nutritional care for customers consisting of patients, guests, and the RGH family. He/she will be the embodiment of the hospital's mission, vision and values. Under the direct supervision of the director, the incumbent will perform a variety of food service and dish duties. They will safeguard each customer experiences the highest level of personalized service.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization
Greet all patients, family members, and guests with a positive and cheerful attitude
Exhibit exceptional customer service and search for opportunities to go above and beyond to meet the needs of the customer/patient
Assist in cleaning kitchen including but not limited to washing and storing dishes appropriately, sweeping, mopping, disposing of trash, cleaning surfaces including dining room tables and chairs
Restock condiments and serveware as needed
Wash dishes by hand if necessary
Dispose of food waste appropriately
Performing cleaning duties on a daily basis
Prep cold items for grab-n-go refrigerators
Serve food to customers and patients
Assist with catering requests
Keep nourishment rooms stocked and logged
Manage cash register
Keep food line and kitchen in a clean, neat and organized manner
Adhere to all federal, state and company sanitization policies and guidelines
Wear protective gear as associated with hospital guidelines including hair cover, beard cover, and gloves
Assist in stocking food and non-food items in the dining room and kitchen
Deliver patient trays in a timely and professional manner
Return food cart to kitchen at the designated times
Visit grocery store for necessary items needed for meal planning or as needed
Maintain kitchen logs including dishwasher temps, refrigerator temps, and patient meal counts

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Must have Food Handler's certification or ability to obtain with ninety (90) days of employment
Experience in food services or hospitality setting preferred
Basic computer proficiency
