About the Role
The Chair of the Department of OB/GYN at The Company is a pivotal role that combines academic and administrative leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and nurturing a culture within the department that emphasizes equity, accountability, engagement, collaboration, and the quality of clinical, educational, and research programs. This includes leading the growth and development strategy, supervising key leadership roles, guiding faculty mentorship and development, maintaining a clinical practice, and expanding relationships with the medical community and other stakeholders. The Chair will also provide support to Graduate Medical Education (GME) programs, collaborate on research activities, and ensure that educational initiatives align with Rural Health Initiatives (RHI) strategic goals. Candidates for this position must have an MD or DO with appropriate Board certification and be able to maintain medical licensure in North Carolina. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of clinical experience in health services, population health, or community health, including rural health, as well as 5 years of leadership experience in these areas. They should have a proven record of community engagement, senior leadership, and academic success, along with the ability to establish productive relationships and engage effectively with various stakeholders. A demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion, strong people leadership skills, and a valid NC Driver's License are also required. The role demands a leader with a strategic mindset, resilience, adaptability, and the ability to confront difficult issues with courage while maintaining professionalism.
