About the Role
The Company is seeking a Department Chair for Accounting and Business Administration. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and coordinating the department's activities, supporting equity, and contributing to a safe and secure campus environment. This role involves maintaining compliance with various educational and accreditation standards, enforcing college policies, and clearly communicating with all stakeholders. The Department Chair will also be involved in recruiting and hiring departmental employees, developing schedules, and ensuring the relevance and rigor of the curriculum. Additionally, the position includes overseeing student learning outcomes assessment, managing departmental budgets, and instructing a course load while serving on campus committees and advising students. Applicants for the Department Chair position must have a Master's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related discipline, with at least 18 graduate semester hours in the relevant field. A minimum of 2 years of full-time or equivalent teaching experience in higher education and experience with learning management systems are required. Preferred qualifications include additional graduate hours in accounting, community college administrative and teaching experience, and proficiency in a foreign language.
