Are you a Nurse Preceptor? Are you passionate about coaching and mentoring our training teams to be extraordinary? Are you interested in expanding your career to improve the medical record experience for your colleagues in the inpatient setting? This ClinDoc/Beacon Applications Training Lead will lead Application Trainers and Credentialed Trainers in the design, development, testing, implementation, evaluation, maintenance, delivery, and support of training materials and curriculum for multiple Epic applications (Inpatient Beacon) across the Nebraska Medicine enterprise and community connect partners. This includes build and maintenance of the Epic training environments to align with approved projects as well as coordination of training efforts and resources for projects across multiple applications. Responsible for attending applications, operations, and community connect committees/meetings across the enterprise and communicating necessary information to appropriate Application Trainers and Credentialed Trainers. Responsible for delegation of application specific tasks as needed. Coach and mentor Application Trainers and Credentialed Trainers in the functions and duties of their roll with growth and development goals as developed with the Applications Training manager. Assist Application Trainers and Credentialed Trainers with additional job functions such as some classroom training, providing at the elbow support to end users, administering test outs and assessments, or other training related tasks. My assist the Applications Training Manager with resource planning, coaching, and development.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years nursing OR allied health experience in designated area of applications supported OR minimum of five years business systems or healthcare related experience in designated area of applications supported is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, allied health field, healthcare or business administration, health sciences, or education required.
  • User is able to pass the appropriate application assigned credentialing sessions within three months required.
  • User is able to pass the appropriate application certification and training environment build certification within six months required.
  • Strong interpersonal and rapport-building skills required.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring stills required.
  • Strong project management and presentation skills required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with individuals and groups of all educational levels and backgrounds required.
  • Strong organizational skills, specifically strong attention to detail, multi-tasking, and time management required.
  • Ability to adjust communication method and content to end-user education level, preference, and need required.
  • Ability to problem-solve on the spot and effectively adapt to changing environment and training needs required.
  • Knowledge and experience with healthcare information systems required.
  • Knowledge of operational healthcare/clinic workflows required.
  • Self-directed and able to carry out job responsibilities with little or limited direction required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Nebraska or current compact state license OR appropriate allied health license in the state of Nebraska only as required in accordance with appropriate degree required.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with a formal Learning Management System preferred.
  • Project management experience, and/or lead experience preferred.
  • Experience utilizing Epic as an end user or in a training capacity preferred.
  • Cross application Epic experience preferred.
  • Experience with Epic training environment build preferred.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Certification to build in Epic training environments preferred.
  • Cross application Epic experience preferred.
  • Experience with formal learning management systems and the use of e-learning applications (Captivate, Articulate) preferred. Prior Epic application or curriculum certification preferred.
  • Experience building in Epic training environment preferred.
  • Ability to develop robust healthcare training scenarios is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to retrieve and effectively communicate organizational policies, procedures, and business operations preferred. Experience developing adult learning curriculum is preferred.
  • Analytical skills specific to troubleshooting multi-application issues preferred.
