First Shift (United States of America)Inpatient Physical Therapist - Full Time
Nebraska Medicine is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist to join our dynamic team in an inpatient setting across our hospital campus. You'll work with a diverse patient population, including trauma, bariatrics, pediatrics, and more, while focusing on early and progressive mobility from the ICU through med-surg. In this role, you'll collaborate with a team of OT, PTs, and PTAs, using cutting-edge rehab technology and safe patient handling equipment. You'll be involved in patient care from initial mobilization to discharge planning, with a strong emphasis on family involvement.
Starting in med-surg, you'll have opportunities to gain experience across various specialties, including neuro, cardiac, trauma, and ICU as you grow in the role. We are also closely tied to the UNMC Physical Therapy program taking many students, assisting in labs and lectures, and supporting students learning. This is a fast-paced, team-based environment with plenty of room for professional development. Schedule Details:
Daytime shifts: Hours typically range between 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Flexible shift options: Choose between five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts. For the 10-hour shift option, weekend availability is required, with shifts either Wednesday-Saturday or Sunday-Wednesday.
Weekend rotation: For those working a Monday-Friday schedule, there will be a weekend rotation approximately every 6-7 weeks. When working a weekend, you'll have a flex day off both the week before and the week after.
*We are prioritizing applicants who are open to working four 10-hour shifts per week with consistent weekend availability. However, we're also open to candidates interested in a more traditional Monday-Friday schedule.*

Duties: Inpatient Physical Therapist
Perform evaluation, planning, and implementation of physical therapy treatments. Assist with department goal setting, program planning, clinical instruction, and staff instruction in order to maintain a progressive educationally motivated staff. Carry out day to day communication and duties with teamwork and professionalism.
Required Qualifications: Inpatient Physical Therapist
* Bachelor's degree or higher from a physical therapy program accredited by the Commission of Accredited Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal required.
* Excellent interpersonal skills required. Strong team orientation required.
* Familiarity with items found in a typical PT (e.g., weights, exercise bikes, gait belts, ultrasound, traction, ambulatory devices, mats, etc.) required.
* Currently licensed as a physical therapist in the state of Nebraska or current compact state license required.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).
Preferred Qualifications: Inpatient Physical Therapist
* Rehabilitation experience preferred.
