POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the configuration and management of the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and strategies in support of Lozier Distribution Center business requirements, objectives, and improvement initiatives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

- Develops and implements WMS strategies to support objectives and improve processes.
- Develops, implements, and manages strategies and processes for rollouts, UPIâ??s, and repack.
- Defines and develops item/location strategies and logical warehouse configuration in support of objectives and process improvements.
- Ensures data integrity essential to the WMS operation.
- Generates WMS solutions to process problems and/or new requirements.
- With supervisory participation, insures coordination of the production schedule and work assignments to optimize the utilization of people, machines, materials, and processes to meet customer requirements, schedule compliance, and operating cost objectives.
- Develops and directs key improvement projects to continuously improve department performance in the areas of quality, safety, service, respect and caring, and cost reduction.
- Researches, develops, and implements new technology applications to improve department performance.
- Insures compliance with the Union procedures defined in the Union contract. Investigates any incidents leading to disciplinary actions; conducts Step 1 Grievance meetings and writes the response.
- Ensures a clean and safe working environment for employees through the support and administration of Lozier safety programs such as safety meetings, hazard hunts, housekeeping, and proper accident reporting/investigation.
- Defines, develops, implements, and manages inventory control strategies and processes in support of company objectives.
- Manages the return goods program in support of company policy.
- Maintains records as defined and required.
- Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings, and completing assignments.
- Ability to work and interact well with others.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor degree in logistics, transportation, computer science, or related field is preferred.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or warehousing environment, if degreed. Minimum 6 years of experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or warehousing environment, if non-degreed. Two years of Warehouse Systems Administration experience preferred.
Required Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of ERP (Enterprise Resource Program) systems.
- Knowledge of material handling, mobile RF (radio frequency) devices, and application in a distribution environment.
- Expert PC skills in windows, word processing, relational databases, and spreadsheets.
- Knowledge of inventory control processes & strategies.
- Strong knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems, processes, and strategies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
Preferred Skills
- Working knowledge of Lozier business objectives (Safety, Quality, Respect & Caring, Speed, Cost, etc.).
- Working knowledge of Lozier Distribution systems, strategies, objectives, and inventory control management.
- Working knowledge of the Lozier budget and planning process.
- Knowledge of Lozier customers and products.
SPECIAL DEMANDS
- Able to move around throughout a warehouse 50% of the day.
- Able to work at a PC for extended periods of time.
- Lifting of 25 lbs occasionally.
