Job Title: ESU #3 Conference Center Host/Hostess/Building Supervision    

Job Code:  2122

Number of Days Worked: (varies due to Conference Center Needs)

Hours: (Hours will vary according to the Conference Center schedule.) (5-15 hours per week)

Department: Conference Center

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Immediate Supervisor: Conference Center Event Coordinator

Essential Requirements:

  1. Knowledgeable about food service procedures and processes

  2. Ability to meet expectations for friendly hospitality and customer service

  3. Operations of basic kitchen and catering equipment

  4. Maintain clean and organized food preparation and service areas

  5. No history of child abuse or negligence

Essential Responsibilities and Job Tasks:

  1. Host/Hostess Duties/Building Supervisor for the Conference Center

    1. Understand and comply with the ESU #3 Board Personnel Policies and Employee Handbook.

    2. Host/Hostess will arrive on time for scheduled shifts for instruction and preparation of daily hospitality needs according to the hostess worksheet.

    3. Coordinate with the Conference Center Event Coordinator to determine the hospitality needs and timing of the group(s) or event(s) using the facility.

    4. Complete the preparation and presentation of any food/beverage item as identified.

    5. Monitor and refresh beverages for all group(s) and event(s) currently having active meetings.

    6. Monitor the needs/requests of the group(s) or event(s) throughout the duration of the conference/workshop.

    7. Refresh meeting rooms while the group(s) is away for lunch.

    8. Refresh room after the earlier group(s) departs and before the next group(s) arrival.

    9. Prepare hospitality needs for afternoon and evening group(s) event(s).

    10. Assist Conference Center Event Coordinator in COOP and product orders for the Conference Center.

    11. Keep all Conference Center supply boxes stocked with necessary items.

    12. Host/Hostess will be proactive in developing new ideas that will increase the efficiency of the Conference Center and Kitchen area.

  2. Host/Hostess Duties for Kitchen Area

    1. Complete the preparation and presentation of any food/beverage item as identified.

    2. Wash and put away catering items, clean up the counter, load and start dishwasher, and sanitize all sinks and counters.

    3. Stock and maintain the refrigerator with pop, bottled water and juices as needed. (stocking may require lifting up to 25 lbs).

    4. Keep the refrigerator clean and discard any old food items.

    5. Maintain inventory and inform Conference Center Event Coordinator of product needs.

    6. Maintain a high level of sanitation in food preparation/distribution.

    7. Inspect kitchen equipment and report all possible problems.

    8. Recommend ideas that will increase efficiency and productivity.

        3. Other duties as assigned.

At Will Employment:

Employment with ESU #3 is not for any period of time, and employment may be terminated at any time at the convenience of the terminating party, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Employment with ESU #3 is not governed by any express or implied contract of employment containing terms different from or inconsistent with those stated in this job description. The terms of this job description may not be modified except in writing signed by the ESU #3 Administrator.

Compensation:

Hourly compensation to be set by the ESU #3 Board.
