SUMMARY:
The Assistant Vice President for Early Childhood Programs – Communities for Kids (C4K) is responsible for providing oversight, technical assistance, reporting, consultation, organization and representation of Nebraska Children (NC)?with all areas related to the Communities for Kids work. This position actively works with the Vice President of Early Childhood (C4K), Associate VPs of Early Childhood (C4K), C4K team, other internal NC staff to implement the activities funded through the C4K initiative and assigned communities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implement C4K funded activities that will strengthen early childhood systems at community and regional levels. Through the Communities for Kids Initiative, work with select communities to:
Engage stakeholders, providers and community leaders;
Utilize local data, conduct surveys and research, and;
Connect communities to resources and support.
Essential Duties will be performed under minimal supervision, using excellent written and verbal communication, that include but is not limited to the following:
Develop and maintain processes and reporting criteria for supporting communities and fund distribution to community-based collaboratives supporting early childhood systems and services,
Provide continuous communication to the communities and C4K team members,
Develop and implement presentations to communities to clarify processes, expectations and updates on C4K activities,
Develop written communication for communities on all contract related activities and opportunities,
Engage stakeholders, providers and community leaders,
Utilize local data, conduct surveys and research,
Connect communities to resources and supports,
Organize and facilitate community planning for C4K activities and provide technical assistance to selected communities to develop strategies related to internal communication, meeting facilitation, reporting and oversight of C4K activities; community meetings, technical assistance, connection and resource building with C4K community activities
Utilize technology to connect with C4K internal and external partners and communities and maintain forward progress towards identified goals,
Foster relationships with and between current and future grantees to maximize peer learning
opportunities and support collective impact application,
Assist with planning and implementation of training and conferences as relevant to the initiative,
Assist with program model development and funding opportunities associated with the initiative,
Assist with maintenance of C4K initiative templates and documents,
Provide progress updates, reports, financial information as required,
Coordinate with other Nebraska Children staff to assist C4K team and communities with assessment and data analysis to identify strategies addressing early childhood needs,
Assist with the review and approval of community planning budgets, reports, contracts,
reimbursement requests, and evaluation protocol,
Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
There are no direct supervisory responsibilities, but the Assistant Vice President may manage project execution using youth volunteers, paid assistants, and student interns as directed from Associate Vice President or Vice President of Early Childhood Programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, leadership, or similar field.
Experience with community collaboration and building relationships.
Management of spreadsheets and organization of data, developmentally appropriate practices, experience working on teams, and across disciplines.
Strong organizational, communication, writing, and presentation skills, including attention to detail and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
Preferred:
Three years successful experience in programmatic management in early childhood education or systems.
Experience working with rural communities.
Experience with large scale projects, grant making systems, budgets, budget justification, implementation, and/or management of quality early childhood education program(s).
