Position Description

If you are looking for a place where you can make a difference in the life of a child, Project Harmony is looking for you.  We are seeking an experienced and committed Director of Community Impact to join our dynamic and innovative organization.  The Director of Community Impact will report to the VP of Response Services, and in collaboration with program leadership and teams. This role will be responsible for overseeing and managing the development, implementation, and evaluation of Project Harmony's Missing and Anti-Trafficking Youth Services (MATYS) Initiative, as well as future community-based projects that align to the organization's mission. The Director will foster a culture of inclusion and engagement among community partnerships and local stakeholders. The Director would have a high level of passion for social justice, community empowerment, and the organization’s mission. This role requires strong leadership, and strategic planning skills to enhance our impact through the innovative programming and community partnerships.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of our MATYS Initiative, as well as other community-based projects as needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners, including local governments, nonprofit organizations, and key stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of inclusion and engagement among community members that promotes innovation, accountability, and excellence.
  • Represent the organization at community events, coalitions, and meetings to advocate for program services and expand community outreach.
  • Ensure the project meets the needs of the target population and aligns with the organization's strategic goals.
  • Identify opportunities for partnerships that can enhance program delivery and increase impact.
  • Monitor project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and resource allocation. 
  • Manage the implementation of grant-funded projects, including tracking outcomes and reporting to funders.
  • Develop and maintain systems for tracking project data and outcomes.
  • Regularly assess project performance using data to evaluate effectiveness and improve community initiatives.
  • Stay informed of best practices and trends in the nonprofit and community services sector, incorporating them into project design and delivery.

Requirements

Qualifications

Education and Training

  • Master’s degree required in social work, public administration, or a related field. 

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in community development, advocacy and project management.
  • Demonstrated experience in community engagement and partnership building.
  • Proven success in designing, implementing, and evaluating program outcomes.

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Strong leadership and team management skills with a commitment to staff development.
  • Excellent active listening, presentation, verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Must be a self-starter, able to work independently, and with a high level of accountability.
  • Ability to be flexible and adjust to stressful and ever-changing situations.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to effectively deal with and resolve conflict.
  • Proficient in budget management, grant writing, and reporting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with diverse community stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with local community resources and stakeholders.
  • Experience with data analysis tools and program evaluation.

 

Other

  • Must be willing to work flexible hours; Occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary for events and meetings.
  • Must submit to a thorough criminal history background check.
  • Must have access to a vehicle, possess a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
  • Position may involve some travel, primarily within the state.
