Manager, Engineering and Cloud Architecture
Provide leadership and guidance to staff, with possible formal management of a team, including responsibility for planning and managing work priorities, performance of duties, achievement of initiatives, and provide direction and directives to direct reports. Provide regular and ongoing feedback, including conducting recurring review conversations with direct reports, including potential feedback on output, mentorship, and subject matter education. Identify and implement cloud architecture solutions to successfully meet needs of the company. Enhance centralized aggregation and organization of data by hardening ingestion, processes, system interfaces, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs. Develop and maintain technical specifications and other architecture documentation. Build and maintain effective relationships with DIA and non-DIA leadership. Develop, implement, and utilize Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) that impact interoperability. Provide technical consultation and assistance on matters related to interoperability and connectivity. Implement, enforce, and test IT policies and procedures defined for information security, system availability, and business continuity. Operationalize business strategy for the engineering team. Regularly perform capacity planning and gap analysis of systems, head count and skillsets needed to meet business needs. Participate in analysis and design of business process, training development, and deployment planning. Ensure activities operate according to internal and external standards, and legal requirements and protect assets and integrity, security and privacy of information entrusted to or maintained by the organization. Manage resources and business objectives in compliance with charter, policies, and standards. Remote employment available anywhere in the U.S.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Health Informatics or a closely related field, with five years of data management experience including experience in retrieving and analyzing data from clinical and claims databases, understanding of data integration (ETL), data modeling, data quality and integrity, data governance, health data management and standards pertaining to health information exchange, prescription drug monitoring program, and social determinants of health. Experience with HL7, FHIR-API, SMART on FHIR applications for healthcare data, data integration (ETL), data modeling, data quality integrity, data quality, and data governance and developing new software applications or customizing existing applications to meet specific project parameters and designing and applying Health Informatics algorithms. Proficiency in SQL, SAS, R, Python or other scripting and analytics tools. Understanding of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
