AECOM is seeking a Landscape Architect I to be based in New York, NY or in the surrounding area.
Requirements and responsibilities for this position will include:
Understanding NYC DOT Standard Specifications and Standard Details of Construction specific to pedestrian ramps, and the American with Disabilities Act (ADA)Performing basic architectural/engineering calculations.
Preparing specifications, reports and related data tables.
Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups.
Preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required.
Under some supervision, may complete design assignments of moderate complexity.
Introduced to the process of preparing designs and drawings using project specifications and discipline-associated written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards and procedures.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
BA / BS or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field.
Valid U.S. Driver's License
Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Be knowledgeable with NYC DOT Standard Specifications and Standard Details of Construction specific to pedestrian ramps, and the American with Disabilities Act (ADA)Standards for Accessible Design experience.
Be proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel, Bluebeam or Adobe Photoshop, and have experience in obtaining field measurements and preparing site plans.
Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in indoor and outdoor environments with uneven terrain, variable outdoor conditions including heat, cold, dust, and noise.
Excellent business writing, analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills, as well as the ability to multitask and work within deadlines.
Limited familiarity with codes, permits, and software applications related to the discipline.
Intermediate understanding of the purpose and use of vendor documents in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.
Performing basic architectural/engineering calculations.
Preparing specifications, reports and related data tables.
Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups.
Preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required.
Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may perform technical assignments of moderate complexity within approved schedules and budgets.
May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.
May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.
Additional Information
This role requires frequent travel between job sites during the workday. Milage / gas will be reimbursed.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $63,000.00 - $110,000.00.
