Position Summary:
The Barcoding Specialist will play a crucial role in the successful rollout of the barcoding system at our Lindsay, NE facility. This position is essential for enhancing the efficiency, accuracy, and traceability of our production process. The specialist will be responsible for overseeing the implementation phases, ensuring that all barcoding equipment and processes are functioning correctly, and providing support to various departments involved in the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the layout and labeling of barcodes across the facility, ensuring all bins and shelving are properly labeled.
- Oversee the implementation and functionality, as well as future sustainment of new scanning equipment, ensuring all users are trained and able to use the equipment effectively.
- Develop and implement space consideration plans to optimize the use of facility space and improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with IT to ensure seamless integration of the barcoding system with existing systems and processes.
- Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for any issues related to the barcoding system and current production processes.
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation of the barcoding implementation process and any updates or changes.
- Assist in managing inventory control elements, including cycle counting, to ensure accurate inventory levels and minimize discrepancies.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- At least 1 year of warehouse experience preferred.
- Forklift and/or crane operator certification preferred, with certification obtainable through employment.
- Strong ability to add and subtract using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions.
- Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
