Our client is seeking an CFO to join their team. The selected individual will be responsible for developing financial organizational strategies by contributing financial information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction. As well as, leading the development and implementation of financial systems with appropriate internal controls that support compliance to regulations while producing timely and reliable results.   
Key Accountabilities

  • Offer informed, critical thinking to develop strategic plans and programs.

  • Model the financial impact of potential ideas as a critical component to the strategic discussions.

  • Drive, monitor, and support the implementation of a long-term financial strategy.
  • Enhance and/or develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures that improve overall the operation and effectiveness of the organization.
  • Evaluate/oversee potential alliance acquisitions, mergers, or investments.
  • Partner with the Executive Team to develop and monitor critical performance benchmarks for business and operational units.
  • Analyze and monitor organization’s sensitivity to key environmental and business variables.
  • Develop financial systems that meet the needs of organization by balancing accuracy, timeliness, cost-effectiveness, and effectiveness with appropriate internal controls and compliance, related to accounting standards, regulations, and donor requirements. 
  • Oversee transaction processing and systems, including GL, AP, billing, donor database, payroll, etc.
  • Produce timely financial reports and analysis that are reliable and respond to leadership’s needs.
  • Evaluate estimation approaches to ensure reasonableness; evaluate allocation approaches to validate compliance with regulations and optimize financial impact.
  • Supervise, develop, and mentor teams that are technically competent, forward-thinking, and passionate about collaboration to drive success. 
  • Ensure appropriate staffing and cross-training efforts to minimize risk.
  • Develop and maintain relations with team to embrace goals and support agency success. 
  • Provide financial perspective on contracts into which the corporation may enter. Negotiate critical agreements that present high level of risk.
  • Represent the agency to third parties (financial institutions, investors, foundation executives, auditors, etc.). 
  • Produce financial statements and analysis for Board of Directors (including Audit and Finance Committees). Identify appropriate issues to report. 
  • Engage in development regarding financial best practices, guidelines, and regulations.
  • Support the President and CEO in any organizational needs as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned that support the agency’s operational and strategic goals.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Regular and predictable attendance, and promptness for work.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field required. 
  • CPA and MBA highly preferred.
  • Ten years of Accounting or Business leadership, preferably in healthcare or nonprofit setting.
  • CCBHC and grant funding experience highly preferred.
  • Experience in a senior financial management role (partner with executive leaders, develop and implement strategic vision, etc.).
  • Progressive leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, productivity, cost accounting, and financial analysis.
  • Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and ability to drive for organization business.
