Nebraska Advocacy and Organizing Intern – Omaha, NE

Pay: $17 per hour

Schedule: Part-time, 10 hours per week

Shift times: Monday through Friday, hours will be variable and self-determined between 9am and 5pm not exceeding 10 hours/week.

Location: 3105 North 93rd Street, Omaha, NE 68134

Job type: Non-Exempt

Travel: Will travel within Omaha and between Omaha and Lincoln for door-to-door canvassing. Travel will be between 25-100 miles/week.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Execute organizing strategies to support reproductive rights and progressive policies in Nebraska. Tactics could include phone banking, door-to-door canvassing, and more.
  • Shadow coalition meetings and grassroots meetings to make important connections and gain greater understanding as to the impact and reach of Planned Parenthood North Central States/Planned Parenthood Advocates of Nebraska.
  • Participate in departmental meetings as requested.
  • Support and implement plans for advocacy events.
  • Shadow in other areas of Planned Parenthood North Central States, including the Health Education and Health Center, to develop strong organizational knowledge and generate new ideas regarding policy in the affiliate.
  • Identify and support patient advocates, storytellers, and youth on college campuses to participate in advocacy programs and advance advocacy priorities.
