Join a team who strives to make a difference in the world in which we live and work. This Civil CAD/Designer position will support our engineering design team with the development of transportation safety and efficiency improvements across the state of Kansas on DOT, County, and City projects.

Our ideal candidate desires the responsibility of working independently to determine project design criteria and mentor less experienced CAD/Designers. This position provides an opportunity to utilize drones to collect aerial photography and field topography for design projects.

This is a full-time position for the Ellsworth, Salina, or Garden City, Kansas office. Duties/Responsibilities

Experienced CAD Operator performing technical drafting and design support for assigned transportation projects under general supervision.
Performs work as assigned from sketches, verbal instructions, and notes.
Prepares engineering drawings from rough sketches or from general engineering and design information (verbal instructions and notes).
Creates alignments, profiles, 3D models, and construction details from imported survey data.
Revises or changes drawings, traces and/or copies existing drawings and completes moderate calculations with specific instructions.
Coordinates with clients and regulatory agencies to establish project scope, schedule, and budgets.

Qualifications

1+ years of experience using Microstation GeoPAK/Corridor Modeler or AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office programs.
Ability to work independently or with minimal instruction.
Can interpret basic design criteria.
Understands and can follow company or client standard CADD procedures for layering and standard drawing procedures for sheet layout.
Capacity to maintain schedules and offer progress reports.

Pay starts at $21.00 per hour if no experience.
